I've barely written anything in over 3 years, before the channel site was deleted I'd write up to 5 threads per day. In July of 2019 as Disqus was preparing to erase everything I had written for years, thousands of threads, my dad died and all the words that came to me so easily went with him. Since my life has been insane.
I don't need anyone's pity, I'm not writing this looking for a "Keep your chin up " or some perspective that is supposed to make me see a brighter view of life. Really I'm kinda forcing myself to write again because I think Ribbey would be happy about it and because after talking to Fred about where we're going to take this place we decided we need to make a change.
Ribbey was "Ribbey's Roadhouse", we can't duplicate her chat threads. There can still be threads here that serve the same purpose but it won't be the same without her responses and her spirit.
We want to keep the Roadhouse going though, in our friend's honor, and we want to accomplish the goal she always had. Her intention was always to provide a place free of drama where people could post just about anything they wanted without being harassed and know their comments were appreciated.
Fred and I were very glad to see so many people pay respect to Ribbey, thank you all!!! GG has long been our friend and partner here, we truly appreciate her posting chat threads these last weeks and can't thank her enough. She'll always be a greatly valued contributor to the Roadhouse as long as she wants to be which Fred and I hope is for as long as we're here.
I'm going to start writing again, it's been too long and I think it will help me pull my head at of my ass. Fred wants to invite people to post their own threads here as well, if anyone is interested please let him know and he'll get you started.
